The story
Named for the mosaic it resembles: medallions in gold, flowers in fuchsia and lapis, tulips in red, all set on a sage-grey ground. The front carries a wide band of embroidery in gold thread with lines of pink and red, and the same band circles the neck. It is the most exuberant piece in the house, and it was photographed in a doorway of the old town, where the print and the wood seemed to belong together.
