The story
A paisley in the colours of amber and olive, dense as a carpet, with small notes of violet and orange inside the pattern. The front braid is the detail to look for: two lines of gold with a stripe of violet between them, echoed at the cuffs. Photographed over a violet slip, which brings that stripe out; over black, the caftan turns quieter and more golden.
