The story
Ears of wheat, printed in violet, rise from the hem of a chartreuse ground and fade as they climb. The neckline, front, cuffs and a band at the hips are worked in a geometric embroidery of navy, white and gold, rows of small circles inside squares, with a beaded edge. It is the most graphic piece in the house, and the one that looks most like a drawing.
